College Planning

Our Services

We provide various programs depending on the student's grade and focus on the fundamentals, first. A college search requires a plan that uncovers skill and talent in particular fields for which the best fit colleges and universities are identified based on a number of different factors. Our approach is holistic, using the development of the college portfolio as a way of teaching critical skills to be successful in college and career. Moreover, we integrate where appropriate academic advising and study skill principles alongside our standardized test planning regime so that you are not surprised, miss opportunities, and feel more knowledgeable along the way.

  • How does a college major relate to future employment?
  • What should students do in each grade to prepare for college?
  • Should my son or daughter get an A in an easier class or B in a harder class?
  • How does academic planning differ from college planning?
  • What should students do in the summer?
  • How many extracurricular activities should students choose?

These are some of the many questions that should be asked and be part of a student's high school path. We have the right questions to guide you to finding relevant answers. Our strategies reduce stress and enhance opportunities.

With Novella Prep, we always maintain a longterm vision while being there with you and your student to think about course selection, improving writing skills, identifying tutoring needs, parental-teacher relations, student-teacher relations, and how to make the most of middle or high school to set a firm foundation for having as many relevant opportunities as possible. After all, choice requires knowledge. By working with Novella Prep, your student will have the ability to excel, to plan, and to focus on being a student without worry.

More about the Novella Prep ethos

The path to the right college requires focus, dedication, and consistency. This path is comprised of constantly shifting tactics to fulfill a mindful, long-term strategy with an experienced college advisor. Whether attributable to doubt about the process, a desire to make the most of opportunity for your student, or to seek support to improve student performance, college planning starts early, but appropriately. No private college admissions advisor can promise secret access or backdoor channels, but expert college admissions planning with experts who have actually worked in Admissions and higher education can apply their experience of the process to academic advising to ensure your son or daughter finds the optimal college match. Our programs include holistic college planning through August of junior year. We find this approach to be effective and well-valued by the families we serve. In September of Senior year, we offer a Senior application program. Please see the programs page for additional information on ways we can help you achieve your goals.

College Planning also requires long term planning, and ongoing action. The application itself should comprise the implementation of a plan, and should not be the starting line. Where to begin? At Novella Prep, working with expert college advisors who possess Admissions experience at leading universities ensures that the guidance is accurate, relevant, and helpful. Beyond the essay. Instead of thinking of college planning as essay and application support, think about asking big questions: what do you need to launch your career, your life, and to provide you with skills, a network, and knowledge to pursue what you want?
