Novella Prep's Role

Companies and states are adapting the workforce to meet modern needs by providing access to credentials and associate’s and bachelor’s degrees. That is wonderful, however, with it comes a very real challenge; many students struggle with study habits, executive functioning, and optimal routines while juggling life itself. Our workforce development program is designed to mitigate these issues while decreasing dropouts and increasing graduation rates. We do this by providing a program where students can and will persist as a result of our unique focus on study skills and executive functioning. We ensure a workforce investment leads to the next trained, skilled workers who stay in it for the long haul.

Beyond Novella Prep’s role in supporting student persistence by providing best practices from nearly 15 years of experience supporting student success, we will work to support states seeking employers who wish to establish a new factory, facility, or hire for services which requires a relevant, skilled workforce. Novella Prep will support student persistence through the programming and help align various parties to facilitate the process. Without a persistence function, students may not graduate from the certificate or program.

How it works

We believe the solution of combining an employer, a local community college or university, an assessment tool, and local and regional congresspeople, can help “pre-skill” and cultivate populations in support of transitioning a now relevant workforce to new careers, without forcing them to leave the place they call home. Employers need to know your state has this ability; they must also understand the clear process to meet their emerging needs while growing jobs in your state. Educational efficiency is paramount.

The aim is to leverage an existing public university and community/technical college capability that exists within each state to cultivate a workforce that can be trained to meet the needs of employers. By demonstrating this capability, states can incentivize employers to create opportunities locally to grow jobs, adapt the workforce, and ensure sustained employment, tax revenue, and strong local economies. By making the opportunity clear to employers, easy to navigate and implement, we can work to help drive business to your state.
